There’s a nice story about me in the UT student newspaper today. I am working hard to quash my vapid horror at the wildly unflattering photo.
Thanks, Andrew!

Walgreen has announced plans to offer FREE healthcare to unemployed/uninsured folks:
Walgreen will offer free clinic visits to the unemployed and uninsured for the rest of the year, providing tests and routine treatment for minor ailments through its walk-in clinics, though patients will still pay for prescriptions.
Walgreen said patients who lose their job and health insurance after March 31 will be able to get free treatment at its in-store Take Care clinics for respiratory problems, allergies, infections and skin conditions, among other ailments. Typically those treatments cost $59 or more for patients with no insurance.
Smart marketing by Walgreen. They get the prescription buys from the clinic visits, plus people like me will be Walgreen fans, and more likely to shop there.
And given current stats, they’ll certainly have plenty of takers for this offer…
My big, fat life, of late is what I’m blogging about over at Babble.
A message my friend BBK sent my husband yesterday:
jon, you are a dear and I cannot thank you enough for loving and cherishing my oldest and dearest chum. You clearly adore her and have made her the happiest I have ever seen her, aside from a handful of times, but they involved (REDACTED BY KATIE
) so they don’t count. Anyway, my point is this, she is a fabulous lady, but there as some things she must never, ever be allowed to do, one is be in charge of giving you medications. Specifically, translating orders for medication. have E or J do it, or even the dog. Number two is be in charge of any sort of keys. I’ll make a list. Glad you are feeling better.
Yes, BBK knows me very, very well… And that’s actually quite excellent advice she just gave my husband (who seems to be recovered from his Benadryl overdose).
I love this photo of my grandmother with her newest great-grandchild.

Jon is experiencing a terrible allergic reaction to a medication. Yesterday, when I talked to his wonderful allergist by phone, I thought she told me he should take 3 Benadryl tablets every 4-6 hours. Today we found out that she actually said to take 3 to start, but then take only one tablet every 4-6 hours following.
So basically, I have been having my husband take three times as much Benadryl as he was supposed to take. I wondered why he was sleeping so much…
SORRY HONEY!

Which leads to a question: if you are a mother who blogs, how do you like to be approached by a marketer or brand representative? What tactics or types of contacts from these folks are a turnoff to you?
