Happy Birthday, Ray

Today would have been my grandfather’s 91st birthday. He died in November of 2006, and I miss him a lot. Here’s a little press about his exploits as a young man (he was the guy making the “death defying” jump – IN HANDCUFFS – out of the airplane.)

After he gave up jumping out of airplanes, he went on to become on the orld’s leading amateur Noah’s Ark searchers, climbing Mr Ararat numerous times. He launched a website devoted to this topic when he was in his late 80s.

Don’t forget that he never went to college but managed to get a job with Hughes Aircraft and helped build the first geosynchronous(I think I have that right) satellite which is now on display at the Smithsonian. Grandpa was cool.
