I had never heard of a Breyer Horse until reading this post, then yesterday I was shopping at the Pottery Barn outlet and saw them for $14.99. Think I'll pick up a couple and save them for Christmas gifts.

Another Breyer Horse fan here--but I loved mine too much to give them over to the dubious care of my four-year-old! We also have the castle in the above picture, but while its 14-year-old owner passed down another castle to the 8-year-old earlier this week, he is still holding on to that one for now. I was the kind of kid who never broke a toy, and am the mother of kids who mostly end up breaking them ALL, which is an aspect of parenting I have found frustrating.

I still have all my Breyer horses. LOVED them. Now I just need to find a place to put them. Packing peanuts and boxes don't do them justice.

I was just thinking Nola (17 months) is getting to the age when she needs more than her blocks and books. Alas, we live in a small 2 bedroom apt., so we have to get rid of stuff to add new stuff.
