When mombloggers toy with marketers who pitch to them

Last week I blogged about PR and marketing pitches to mombloggers that are total misfires…like the one I got asking me if I wanted to review infant formula on my blog.

Uhhhh. No.

But maybe instead of just blogging about it, what I should have done is have a little fun with the person pitching me a product that was so very, very wrong for my blog…like The Bloggess did. (Definitely click on the link and read it. VERY funny.)

  1. That is too funny! Thanks

  2. In the end the formula company won even if you refused to review their product. You might think they did not know who you are or what you’re writing about. They do!

Formula companies advertising research is very through and you were targeted for a reason and they succeeded in having you promote formula in the most underhanded sleezy advertising way possible, by advertising on your Babble Home/Work blog you write where I’m assuming you have no control over that website advertising.

Having worked for 10 years in advertising in NYC, and on national advertising campaigns, and sitting in more client meetings than any human being should have to do, I think they all know what they are doing by trolling for mammablogger reviews or places to advertise.
