Please pray for my sweet son H, who is in critical condition following a major drug overdose and a brutal assault. He is on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma to try to bring down widespread swelling in his brain due to a period of time with low/no oxygen. He aspirated and his lungs are injured badly. The next few days critical for him.

Oh my goodness Katie, I am so sorry to hear about this. H. will be in my thoughts and prayers, as will you and Jon and the kids.
My other half was around H.’s age and hospitalized more than once in similar circumstances in his Knoxville youth. He’ll be 42 in a few weeks. Hang in there, there is hope and light in all that darkness. For now I’ll just pray he recovers well and quickly, and give you all strength for the future.
I don’t know you and H, so I read through your blog to look for a happier time that I could focus my best wishes towards. May your love, the doctors’ skill and H’s own recuperative powers restore health to your wonderful child.
Oh Katie, I’m so sorry to hear about your son. I will pray for his recovery.
Haven’t asked much from the person upstairs lately, but i will tonight pray that will be able to take that lad fishing again someday. It’s been too long since the last time.
Oh, Katie– your blog has sustained me through the past year as I struggled my way through law school. You’ve been a virtual “mama” to me so many times, and I am praying my hardest that H makes it through this. Love and prayers.

I will hug my daughter extra tight tonight, giving her extra kisses (even if she protests). I am unimagineably sorry for the grief you are going through, and I sincerely hope your son pulls through and makes a full recovery.

OH MY GOD. I am so, so sorry…if you need an Arizona liasion to Barrow Neurological Institute for him, please, just say the word and I will be glad to do whatever footwork is necessary. And I will pray.
