From a reader, Caro from Toronto:

“This weekend I flew to England for the burial of my grandfather’s ashes — his name was also Henry. Actually, Henry’s sort of a family name in my family. Every firstborn son has Henry as either a first or middle name, so when the post that revealed your Henry’s full name went up, it hit me somewhere else, somewhere another name wouldn’t have reached. So, I brought your Henry with me across the Atlantic twice this weekend, and took this photo on Ringstead beach on the Dorset coast, a place that my family has spent a lot of time on over the past few generations. Later that same day, I went to the church with my family and buried our Henry, who was 88 when he died last fall. The second photo is of my young cousin at our Henry’s spot. I wish your Henry had had a chance to get to 88, and I hope so strongly that you and your family can feel the love and support that is being sent your way from all over the world.”

Thank you so much Caro. These are absolutely lovely.

  1. That is so beautiful. And it dawned on me right now, that this is THE SIGN, the sign from Henry that he is happy and free, roaming the world and touching other people’s hearts. xoxoxo to you Katie.

  2. isn’t it crazy when you stop and realize the impact your story has had? does your grief, if only for a moment, get overcome by awe at what you are accomplishing by telling your story so beautifully? has it sunk in that Henry, through you, is literally changing the way THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of people address the issue of drug use with their children?

i’ve not read all your comments, and i’m sure someone has pointed this out to you already, equally sure that you’ve probably figured it out on your own. but the “perceptive one” you saw.

    birds?
    tye-died wings?
    freedom?

all i’m saying is maybe. still channeling love and support. still holding you close in thoughts and prayers! jco

  3. Thank you for all of the wonderful pictures from all over the world and the words that accompany them.
