I have been writing for Babble for about four years now, and of all the magazines and websites for which I’ve freelanced, it’s my favorite. The people there are just plain great to work with. I loved, loved, LOVED my first editor there, Ada Calhoun, and I also already love my new editor, Sarah Bryden-Brown.
I was included in Babble’s first anthology, and I pen their working mom-focused blog, Home/Work.
Now – because I honestly just don’t have enough going on (heh
) – I will be chronicling Baby G’s first 12 months in Babble’s newest blog, “Baby’s First Year.” You can read my inaugural BFY blog post RIGHT HERE.
Because G is baby #5, and because I am so busy with so many things, I think that taking a few minutes a couple of times each week to specifically think about and write down her latest developments or milestones will mean that I remember more of her babyhood. I think this blogging project will be like a virtual baby book just for her, and I think she will enjoy having it when she’s older. I know I will.
But anyway, go check out Babble’s new Baby’s First Year blog. Thanks for reading! – Katie
Yay! Good for you! I think it will be a great baby book for Georgia. I'm looking forward to reading it.
First post here – when ever I click a Babble link, I get re-directed to Babble Australia site (as I am in Australia). How can I access the US site? Even if I type the site in, I still get Babble Oz.
Thanks if you can help!
I have enjoyed reading your posts and are truely inspired by your strength. You are one of those people who seems to have light radiating from within, even in your times of great sadness. I see it in pictures of Henry and all your other children.
I should have said that a long time ago as I’ve been lurking for awhile. But, i have a question after reading about your new gig. I had a blog that i wrote a few years ago as i was going through some tough times too, and i’m proud of it. I wonder if there is a way to take an online blog and put it into like a book, or hard copy? Just wondering if you had heard of that?
Kanga, the only thing you can do to read US babble blogs is to right click on the link and select "copy link location." then go to a blog reader like google reader and add the link as a subscription. There's no other way of doing it. So annoying!
I am sure adding one more thing is an overwhelming prospect at this point in your life. But what a wonderful gift you are giving not only baby G, but your readers as well. Thank you.
Hi Sarah, just wanted to say thanks for the link advice, I also have been frustrated by babble.com.au, and your solution has solved the problem, thank you
Thanks Sarah! Took a little while to work out a Google account but got there in the end.
Thank you..really informative!!
