I love Curbed, and was excited to see that they have just launched “Curbed National” (come to Knoxville!). As part of their launch festivities, Curbed National announced “Operation Dollhouse,” in which top design brands each took a crack at dollhouse design.
At HGTV, where I am happily employed, the design gurus decided to do a dollhouse garden, based on a Jamie Durie landscape. I think it turned out really well; just looking at it makes me want to run off to Bali and fall in love with a teensy, tiny, dollhouse-sized Javier Bardem.
(But I digress, as I am wont to do…)
HGTV has started a Flickr gallery to encourage other folks to upload and share their own dollhouse desins – interiors, exteriors and landscapes. So if you or someone you know is a dollhouse enthusiast, please let them know that HGTV would love to see their dollhouse designs in the new HGTV Dollhouse Flickr gallery.
(For the record, I am not crafty in the least and could never, ever make a dollhouse or dollhouse garden look halfway decent, much less like the photo above. But I really love getting to work with people who DO know how to make that happen. I’ve always really loved looking at other people’s dollhouse fabulousness. It’s a neat hobby.)

I love the tiny lily pads!! Very cute
I lvoe this! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks y'all. If you know anyone who enjoys miniatures and dollhouse design, please help spread the word about the new Flickr group. We really want people to upload and share their own dollhouse design.

I'm not a Star Wars fan but I want to play with this!
Love it! Designers just look at the world differently! My daughter is a budding Interior Designer, and she "sees" everything in a different way than I do. It's really neat!
Look at some of the new interiors that have been added to the Flickr group. They're awesome!
There was another show on HGTV (can't remember the name?) where they created a Japanese garden which looked very similar to this. I loved it and envied it! It's hard to tell from the photos that this was actually created in miniature. They appear to be a real garden in a real home. Nice job and congratulations. It looks like a lot of fun.
Oh, and ditto to Debra. Where in the world did you find those miniature lily pads?
Thanks for sharing the photos,
