Tally today so far: G – 4, Christmas ornaments, ZERO.
The damage was done to our smaller upstairs tree, where she doesn’t have regular access, but I stupidly took her up there ad turned my back oh-so-briefly, allowing her to destroy multiple ornaments in the blink of an eye.
For the large downstairs tree, we had to spend $50 on an anti-Danger Baby fortification. As you can see, it’s “not just for dogs.
(They should totally have a photo of 18 month old G on that box along with the goose and the bunny.)
Here’s the anti-DB enclosure set up around the tree before we would even THINK of hanging a single ornament.
I have been waiting for this post! Our youngest babies share similar traits and within 24 hours of having my tree up I had lost 5 ornaments. I had wondered how your danger baby was going to do with yours! I see she did not disappoint.
I am two seconds away from purchasing one of those too but am unsure how sturdy it is – my fellow is a strong one and am unsure if it could be pushed over, or would at least stand his attempts to inevitably climb it.
Anyhow. Best of luck to the holiday decor!
I love that I am not the only one who still gets a real live Christmas tree…mine looks really wild and crazy this year with branches sticking out all over the place the perfect spots for my most favorite ornaments! Merry Christmas Katie…and hope the gate works against DB!!!
You made my night,DB!
Merry, merry to all!
xo, misha
for the toddler years I hung plastic apple ornaments & tied ribbons on the tree but I love the dog gate idea
Katie, just want you to know that Danger Baby has quite a fan club at our house — my kids (5 and 8) are nuts about her!
You should publish a book for her (and her kids) to enjoy; it would be a riot! "The Many Adventures of Danger Baby"! ;-D
… that was supposed to be (5 and 8 years old)…
Pics like this make me want a proper and real tree. Unfortunately, in Thailand, we don't get real ones.
When you and your siblings were danger babies, we had to get a smaller tree and put it on the big round table. At least that made it more challenging to destroy.
I love Danger Baby! such a cutie! C is a doll as well…that pic with her dad is beautiful
After reading about Danger Baby and the tree, I was worried what 15 month old Hurrican Violet would do to ours and what has happened is . . . nothing. She barely even looks at it. In fact, her soon-to-be 4 year old sister messes with it more. G is adorable and I love reading about her antics. Such a character!
I love, love, love your wood floors!!! Are they original to the house or did you put them in yourself!!! Baby G is so cute!! I have an almost 2 year old little boy who seems to have the trouble-making qualities of Baby G, so I have affectionately "borrowed" your pet name for Baby G and now our Baby J is also Danger Baby..everyone thinks its quite apt and cannot believe how similar your Danger Baby and Ours are!!!
Merry Christmas!!
I wonder if this would work for cats, or if they'd be able to leap over it. Anybody know?
I love that Danger Baby.
She is so incredibly cute.
