This is one of the special ornaments each of the children have this year to remember their big brother/older cousin.
Sometimes, because I have some guilt about the things that my status as a full time, work-outside-the-home mother makes it hard for me to pull off well, I find myself maniacally overcompensating in other areas.
Like, say, the holidays, and my obsessive desire to make them perfect for my family in every detail.
Over at Babble this morning, I’m owning up to how my quest for holiday perfection could ruin the holidays for everyone else if I don’t dial it back some.
