Before Dr. Seuss’s “The Lorax” was an animated movie (coming out tomorrow, in case you’re the last person in the continental U.S. who is still unaware of this fact
), it was a book that people like Lou Dobbs of Fox News still love to hate. And over at my Babble blog tonight, I’m counting down a list of other children’s books – new and old- that have inspired controversy and criticism.
For example, who could ever forget the modern classic, “Daddy’s Roommate,” a book so inflammatory and subversive that Sarah Palin herself is reported to have objected to it being in general circulation in her local library.
Go check out my whole list, and tell me whether there are any books for kids or teens that you find controversial yourself.
