STUFF I LIKE: Marked Down Sophie Catalou

With Christmas shopping underway, I am regularly checking out Zulily’s flash sales at the moment to scoop up some gifts for various children on my list, and I notice that there is currently a Zulily sale underway for Sophie Catalou, which is one of my absolute favorite lines of clothing for little girls. This brand is tres expensive, which is why I try to grab a Sophie Catalou dress for C here and there when I can, but only when I see them on sale.

With two little girls so close in age, and each born in the summer, I get double duty out of clothing that I buy for C as long as it’s tough enough to last until it’s ready to be passed on to G. So I am willing to pay a few more bucks for certain brands that I know from experience can take everything from tree climbing to schooldays to Sunday church, plus frequent washings, and still be in great shape for baby sister when the time comes. Along with Hanna Andersson , Sophie Catalou clothing is one of my go-to brands to meet that standard (My two year old is still wearing hand-me-down Hannas that her 17 year old sister first wore as a toddler, and several of them passed through several girl cousins’ closets before ending up back at our house. THAT’s clothing worth paying for.) At the moment, C has two Sophie Catalou dresses that fit her, and G is currently wearing two more SC dresses that were passed down from C when she outgrew them. The hand-me-down ones look almost as nice as they did when I ordered them (on sale). In other words, Sophie Catalou is not only a beautiful and unique line of clothing for kids, it’s also tough.

These special and extra durable dresses are some of the few that I predict I will pack away when both of the little girls have finally outgrown them so they can maybe pass them down to their own daughters one of these days.

Below is a sampling of my favorite Sophie Catalou items from this current Zulily sale. If you like any of my picks enough to think of making a purchase, I’d recommend snapping ‘em up sooner rather than later because this brand tends to go pretty fast when Zulily carries it. The children’s sizes seem to sell out more quickly than the toddler and baby sizes.

This is the Pia Dress. It’s 100% cotton, and is available in sizes for babies, toddlers and little girls.

For the non-dress loving baby or toddler in your life (I don’t have one of those), this is one of several sweet playsuits available in the current Zulily flash sale.

This is the Beige Poppy Dress, also in 100% cotton, and also available in sizes from infant up to elementary school.

The same Poppy Dress also comes in this supercute fuschia color.

I love, love, love this perfectly classic red cardigan, which they have in sizes for both toddlers and girls. (It also comes in gray.)

I think I may see this Green and Red Rosette dress in somebody’s Christmas gift-wrapped future…

So those are just a few of my personal favorites available in the Sophie Catalou sale taking place over at Zulily at the moment. There’s lots more stuff to ooh and aah over as well. As for me, however, I have stayed up far too late already this evening looking at cute stuff online, and now I need to hit the sack for the night to dream, no doubt,  of my January Visa bill. sugarplums and candy canes…
