Everyone in our family loves them some Christmas, but among all of my offspring, I think that maybe E loves it the most. Well, let’s put it this way, he is the most demonstrative in his enthusiasm for the winter holidays.

Every December, as we get closer and closer to the big day, E gets more and more excited, until he’s about to pop. This irrational exuberance for all-things-Christmas is one of my favorite things about E, and I hope he never, ever loses it.

For example, here is a little video that my sister Betsy took of E last year at about this time. As you can see, he’s barely able to contain himself.

Of course, last year, E was still a middle schooler, while this year, he’s a big ol’ 14 year old. So while he may still be just as excited about the approach of December 25, he now expresses his seasonal joy in much more suave and sophisticated ways befitting a kid of his advanced maturity.

Check out this brand new video, in which E busts out his 2012 holiday swagger for us, jamming out to some Christmas jazz. As you can see, my boy moves a lot like Jagger…. if Jagger were a jolly elf.

It’s pretty awesome. I love this kid.
